Encouragment For The Soul

(Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (KJV)

When you walk by faith in Jesus Christ, following Him completely, He will never lead you astray. He will always bring you to the place you need to be at the exact moment you need to be there. Faith in Jesus is the most wonderful thing that can happen to you in your life. Not only does it bring about salvation, the forgiveness of sin, it frees you from the penalty of sin. Faith in Jesus brings about a confidence in your life that no matter what, no matter where, you never walk alone through the storms of life. It is a knowing in your soul that when you trust in Him completely, follow His commands by faith and love, you will always be victorious over the world and the enemies attacks (1 Corinthians 15:57-58; 2 Corinthians 2:14).

We don’t always see the hand of God at work in our life, but because of our faith we know that He is there for us. We know it because we trust Him and love Him to always do what is best for us and to do it when it is most needed in our life (Romans 8:28). Like any good parent, God always looks after the needs of His children and we can know this because His Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit (Romans 8:14-18). Take a step of faith today. Trust the call of God in your life. He will not let you down.

Be blessed my friends.

Who Is This Jesus?

Encouragment For The Soul

(Isaiah 40:31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

God does not always reveal His plan for your life all at one time. Most of the time He reveals His will to you “little by little” or “one step at a time.” When times of not understanding arise in your life, you must be willing to “be still and know” that God is in control and that in His timing He will reveal His purpose and plan for your life. When you “wait upon the Lord” you are strengthened in your faith and find comfort and renewal in your patience and complete oneness with God. God loves you and He does have a plan for your life, just let Him work it out as He sees fit. Don’t try to rush headlong into the “dark of night” with no way of knowing which way to go, wait until He shines His light to give you direction and guidance. His way is always the best way.

(Matthew 6:6) But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.

Prayer is the most intimate part of your relationship with the Savior. It should be a time of worship, praise, and petition for needs. It is a time of being in the presence of your God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Prayer is your direct way of communicating with your loving and caring Savior and should not be taken lightly or neglected. Jesus cares about your true needs and He wants to supply for those needs. Just as you communicate your needs to your earthly parents as children, your need of love, understanding, physical and emotional needs, your desires, or your need to just talk about problems, you should do so also to your Heavenly Parent, Jesus Christ. Why not get alone with your Savior today. Seek out your “closet,” and experience a time of refreshing as you are filled with His presence.

Be blessed my friends.

(Acts 5:29) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. (KJV)

Do we as Christians have the right to choose the best course of action for our lives?
God has given each of us free will choice. We can choose to decide what is best for our life or we can choose to allow God to make the decisions for us. It seems that every time we decide what we should do, we end up going down the wrong road in life. Besides, leaving God out of the decision making process is the same as telling Him, “I don’t trust Your judgment.”If you are to live as a person of faith, a born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you should be willing to surrender all authority, control, and care of your life to Him. Pray to Him for guidance. Pray to Him for counsel. Seek His help in the hour of need. Allow Jesus to make the decisions and you will never go down the wrong road again.

Encouragement For The Soul

(Matthew 6:27) Which of you by taking thought (worry) can add one cubit unto his stature? (KJV)

Worry is a sin. Worry says you doubt that God can do what He has promised to do for you. When you begin to worry it is because you have begun to look at your situation through your earthly eyes and not through eyes of faith in Jesus Christ.  The Bible teaches that we are to “Walk by faith and not by sight” (2corinthians 5:7). Worry brings on doubt and doubt counteracts faith. Listen to what the Bible has to say about doubt, “…he who doubts is like a wave of sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 5:6-8) Worry makes us unstable, unable to receive God’s blessings. But faith in Jesus Christ makes us the recipient of God’s grace and gives you the steadfast confidence for your situation and a hope for the future.

Encouragement For The Soul

(Isaiah 9:6) For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  (NKJV)

(John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  (NKJV)

The greatest gift ever given was given to mankind by God Himself, His Son Jesus Christ. Without Jesus there can be no salvation. Without Jesus there can be no forgiveness for sinful man. Without Jesus there can be no eternal life. Without Jesus there can be no relationship with a righteous, holy, and just God. When God gave His Son, He gave Him with a specific purpose and plan. Jesus was given to die on the cross as a sacrificial substitute for your sin. He was given so that whosoever called upon His name in faith could be washed in His blood, redeemed from their sin, and become a child of God. This most precious Gift came not wrapped in pretty paper or sealed with silken bows, but wrapped in swaddling clothes laying in a manger. Our gift from God was not shiny or gaily colored but beaten, bruised, and stained with blood. But it was the best gift God had to give you and He gave it with all His love and as a personal gift to you. If you haven’t received His free gift yet, ask Him for it today. There is no strings attached, no money to pay, just receive His free gift of love by faith, His Son Jesus Christ. It will be the best Christmas gift you ever got.

Be blessed my friends and MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Encouragement For The Soul

(Joshua 1:9) Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (KJV)

You are to have courage to have faith in Christ. You are to have courage to obey His will. You are to have courage to not doubt Him and trust Him completely. You are to have courage to speak the truth of His Word. You are to have courage to face the trials and tribulation of this life, for He is always with you. There is nothing in your walk with Jesus that involves fear. Fear is not of God, fear is a tactic and tool of the devil and his demons. Courage is from God, of God, and is given by God. Take courage today, Jesus is with you wherever you go and you have to remember… nothing is impossible with our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Be blessed my friends.
